Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Zarbat Khan, a 30-year-old man from Karachi, had been struggling with breathing difficulties for the past six years. With time, it turned into a constant inability to breathe comfortably through his nose. This long-term condition caused sleepless nights, frequent fatigue, and headaches, significantly affecting his quality of life. Concerned about his worsening symptoms, Zarbat consulted a medical specialist, who conducted a detailed examination. He was diagnosed with Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS), a condition in which the nasal septum shifts from its normal position, obstructing airflow and leading to chronic nasal congestion. The doctor recommended Septoplasty, a surgical procedure to correct the septum and restore normal breathing.
Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was beyond Zarbat’s financial capacity. He lives in a modest rented house with his wife and three children. Zarbat works as a quality control officer at a garments company and earns a monthly salary of PKR 37,000. With rising household expenses, house rent, and school fees for his eldest child, arranging money for surgery was not possible for them. Facing this difficulty, Zarbat approached Transparent Hands, and his case was registered for assistance.
On September 5, 2025, Zarbat Khan was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. Dr. Paras Naseem successfully performed his Septoplasty. The surgery went smoothly, and he received post-operative care. Zarbat was discharged in stable condition from the hospital on September 6, 2025.
Zarbat shared his feelings as follows: “Before surgery, breathing problems affected my sleep, work, and daily life, and I felt exhausted all the time. I finally received the much-needed surgery. I am truly thankful to you for relieving my discomfort and helping me return to a healthier routine.”
Today, Zarbat is experiencing noticeable improvement in his breathing. He is gradually resuming normal activities and sleeping better than before. His family is grateful to you, as your support has restored his comfort and brought relief and stability back into his life.
