Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Zain Ul Abideen, a 9-year-old boy from Lahore, had been suffering from pain caused by a growing lump in his right inguinal region. The swelling has been steadily increasing in size, causing him significant discomfort. Simple activities like sitting or standing for long periods had become difficult. Concerned about his condition, his parents took him to a nearby hospital for evaluation. After performing an ultrasound scan and necessary laboratory tests, the doctor diagnosed Zain with a right-sided inguinal hernia. To resolve the issue and relieve his pain, the doctor recommended herniotomy. Unfortunately, the cost of the procedure was beyond his family’s financial means.
Zain ul Abideen is an orphan, and he lives with his uncle, who runs a local shop and only earns around Rs. 25,000 per month. He is the sole breadwinner for the family. They live in a two-marla house. Zain also has three school-going siblings. Moreover, his uncle has taken out a PKR 70,000 loan. Under the circumstances, the family couldn't afford the surgery. However, as days passed, Zain’s pain became unbearable. His family learned about Transparent Hands and contacted us. We registered his case. On November 27, 2025, Zain was admitted to Evercare Hospital, and he had a successful surgery on the same date. Dr. Ahmed Fawad conducted the operation. After receiving post-operative care, Zain was discharged in stable condition on November 28, 2025.
His family feels relieved at his recovery, and his uncle expressed his gratitude: “Zain had been suffering for too long, and it was hard to see him in that condition. The entire family felt very helpless. We didn't have any resources. Thanks to your magnanimous support, he is feeling well now. This recovery wouldn't have been possible without your kindness. Thank you for helping Zain get well."
Zain feels much healthier and happier now. His family and friends are also delighted with his recovery. Your kindness and support have allowed Zain to live a pain-free life.
