Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Noor Zarain, a 37-year-old man from Malakand, was suffering from pain in the upper right side of his abdomen. Along with constant discomfort, he frequently experienced nausea, vomiting, and indigestion, especially after eating fatty meals. As a daily wage laborer, Noor’s illness severely affected his ability to work and earn a living. Concerned about his worsening health, he visited a nearby hospital for medical consultation. After a detailed clinical examination, including an ultrasound scan and necessary laboratory tests, the doctor diagnosed him with cholelithiasis. To relieve his pain and prevent further complications, the doctor recommended a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was far beyond Noor’s financial means.
He lives in a small rented home with his wife and six children. As the sole breadwinner of the family, he works as a daily wage laborer and earns only PKR 15,000 per month. This income barely covers basic household needs such as food, rent, and utilities. Managing the expense of surgery was impossible for the family. During this challenging time, Noor and his family turned to Transparent Hands for help. After carefully reviewing his medical condition and financial situation, his case was registered.
On August 31, 2025, Noor was admitted to the Gulrang International Hospital in Malakand. Dr. Farooq Khan successfully performed the laparoscopic cholecystectomy on September 1, 2025. The surgery went smoothly, and Noor was kept under close post-operative observation. He showed steady improvement and was discharged in stable condition on September 5, 2025.
Noor shared his heartfelt gratitude as follows: “The constant pain had taken away my comfort and peace of mind. I felt weak and helpless every day. After the surgery, I feel relieved and hopeful again. Your support restored my health and enabled me to live without pain. I am deeply thankful for the kindness shown to me.”
Today, Noor is recovering well at home. He and his family are deeply grateful to you for restoring his health and helping him return to a pain-free life.
