Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Muhammad Waqas, a 35-year-old man from Lahore, was struggling with throat pain, fever, and a recurring cough. Over time, his symptoms worsened, and he began experiencing hoarseness of voice. It made even simple conversations difficult. His illness left him weak and unable to take care of his responsibilities efficiently. His declining health became a constant source of worry, affecting both his livelihood and his family’s well-being. Concerned about his worsening condition, Waqas visited a nearby hospital for medical help. His doctor examined him and advised some medical tests to confirm the condition, followed by treatment with medicines and regular follow-up visits. However, he couldn’t afford his treatment.
Waqas is the sole breadwinner of his family, earning PKR 35,000 per month through his work as a driver. He supports his four siblings with this limited income, which barely covers household necessities such as utilities and food expenses. He faced immense financial hardships and couldn’t afford his treatment. During this time of despair, Waqas reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us to register his case.
Waqas was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital on August 12, 2025, where Dr. Talha Bin Ayub carefully treated his condition. Waqas underwent the laboratory tests, chest X-ray, and was diagnosed with Acute Pharyngitis. It is the inflammation of the pharynx. Waqas received prescribed medications. After a few days of care and observation, his health began to improve significantly. Waqas was discharged in stable condition on August 16, 2025.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Waqas said: “Your support allowed me to receive proper treatment when I couldn’t afford it. I feel healthier, stronger, and hopeful again. I’m deeply thankful to you for helping me recover and continue providing for my family.”
Waqas is now recovering well and has resumed his work. His energy and confidence have returned, allowing him to focus on his job and family responsibilities once more. He and his family are grateful to you for making a significant impact on Waqas’s life.
