Success Story

Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Muhammad Khalil, a 40-year-old resident of Karachi, had been struggling with health issues for the last five years. He frequently experienced pain in the upper right side of his abdomen, especially after meals, accompanied by indigestion and discomfort. Over time, these symptoms became more severe, making it difficult for him to carry out his daily responsibilities. Concerned about his worsening condition, Muhammad Khalil went to a local hospital. After a thorough clinical evaluation and some diagnostic investigations, he was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis, a condition caused by the formation of gallstones in the gallbladder. To relieve his symptoms and prevent further complications, the doctor recommended a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was far beyond Muhammad Khalil’s financial means.

He works at a private company and earns only PKR 40,000 per month. He is responsible for supporting his two children and his elderly mother, while also managing household expenses, utility bills, and other necessities. With such limited resources, arranging money for the required surgery was impossible. During this challenging time, Muhammad Khalil turned to Transparent Hands for assistance, and his case was registered for treatment.

On April 17, 2026, Muhammad Khalil was admitted to the Altamash General Hospital in Karachi. Dr. Abdul Waheed successfully performed laparoscopic cholecystectomy to remove his gallbladder on the same day. The procedure was completed without complications, and he remained under medical observation to ensure a smooth recovery. After showing satisfactory progress, Muhammad Khalil was discharged in stable condition the following day.

Expressing his gratitude, Muhammad Khalil said:

"For years, I lived with constant pain and discomfort that affected every aspect of my life. I worried not only about my health but also about how I would continue supporting my family. After the surgery, I feel relieved and hopeful again. I can now focus on my work and spend time with my children without suffering. I am grateful to you, as you helped make my treatment possible."

Today, Muhammad Khalil is recovering well and gradually returning to his normal routine. The surgery has freed him from years of pain and improved his well-being.

He and his family extended their heartfelt thanks to you for supporting his surgery.
