Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Muhammad Abdullah, a 7-year-old boy from Layyah, had lived with serious health challenges since birth. He had long suffered from shortness of breath and chest discomfort, which worsened even with minimal physical activity. Simple actions leave him weak and exhausted, preventing him from playing or participating in daily activities like other children of his age. Concerned about his deteriorating condition, Abdullah’s parents consulted a doctor for medical evaluation. After thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic investigations, Abdullah was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot and Left Pulmonary Artery stenosis. The doctor advised total correction surgery as the only effective treatment option.
However, the cost of the surgery was beyond his family’s financial means. Abdullah belongs to a family of seven living in extreme poverty. The family lives in a relative’s house, struggling to meet daily needs. His father works as a daily wage laborer and earns only PKR 15,000 per month. This meager income barely covers basic expenses such as food and utilities, making life-saving surgery completely unaffordable. During this challenging time, Abdullah’s parents contacted Transparent Hands. After listening to their concerns, we swiftly registered his case.
On November 12, 2025, Muhammad Abdullah was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed open-heart surgery for total correction on November 14, 2025. The procedure was completed smoothly, and Abdullah was placed under close post-operative monitoring. His condition improved gradually, and he was discharged in stable condition on November 19, 2025.
Abdullah’s parents shared their joy as follows: “We are grateful to you for standing by Abdullah during the most difficult time of our lives. Your support made his surgery possible. We now see a gradual improvement in his strength and activity. We will never forget your generosity.”
Today, Muhammad Abdullah is recovering steadily. With time and continued care, he will soon be able to perform daily activities more comfortably and engage in childhood routines that were once impossible.
His family is deeply grateful to you and the PCHF for giving him the opportunity for a better life.
