Muhammad Arham, a 2-year-old boy from Sahiwal, had been suffering from shortness of breath and chest discomfort since birth. While other children run and play freely, Arham quickly became exhausted and breathless even after mild activity. His condition not only limited his ability to enjoy childhood but also caused deep concern for his family. Fearing for their son’s health, Arham’s parents took him to a doctor for evaluation. A series of diagnostic tests, including an echocardiogram, revealed that Arham was suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a complex congenital heart defect involving four structural abnormalities in the heart.

The doctor advised open-heart surgery for total correction. This major operation was the only way to save Arham’s life and allow him to grow up healthy. However, the cost of the procedure was far beyond his family’s means. Arham’s father, a daily wage laborer, earns only PKR 25,000 per month to support his wife and two children. The family lives in a modest two-room house and struggles to meet even basic household expenses. Due to their financial constraints, they were unable to afford the surgery. During their search for hope, they reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. Moved by their plea, we registered his case.

On June 16, 2025, he was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. On June 18, 2025, Dr. Asim Khan performed a successful open-heart surgery for total correction. The procedure went smoothly, and Arham received careful post-operative care. He was discharged in stable health on June 22, 2025.
