Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Muhammad Mujahid, a 25-year-old man from Lodhran, had been experiencing severe pain and discomfort for the past six months due to perianal discharge. This condition not only caused physical pain but also significantly affected his quality of life. Simple tasks, such as sitting, walking, or working, became exhausting. Concerned about his deteriorating health, Mujahid visited a local hospital for evaluation. After undergoing diagnostic tests, he was diagnosed with a perianal fistula, a painful condition caused by an abnormal connection between the anal canal and surrounding skin. To alleviate his symptoms and restore his well-being, the doctor recommended fistulectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was beyond Mujahid’s financial capacity.

Mujahid lives in a small rented one-room brick house with three family members. His mother, who previously helped support the family financially, passed away recently, leaving the family in a difficult financial situation. Mujahid works as a rickshaw driver, earning about PKR 30,000 per month, which barely covers the household’s essential expenses. This made affording surgery impossible. During this challenging situation, Mujahid approached Transparent Hands, and his case was registered.

On November 27, 2025, Muhammad Mujahid was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Ahmad Fawad successfully performed fistulectomy. The surgery was smooth, and Mujahid received proper post-operative care and monitoring. He was discharged in satisfactory condition on November 28, 2025.

Mujahid shared his happiness as follows: “The pain and discomfort had made it nearly impossible to work, move freely, or live normally. I can carry out daily tasks without pain or embarrassment. I am immensely grateful to you for supporting my surgery.”

Today, Muhammad Mujahid is recovering well. His pain and discomfort have reduced significantly, and he is gradually returning to his daily routine. Mujahid and his family are deeply grateful to you for restoring his health and easing his suffering.
