Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Rabia Yasin, a 36-year-old woman from Bahawalnagar, was suffering from a painful condition that gradually worsened over time. She experienced a lump in her umbilical area, which slowly increased in size. Simple activities like bending, lifting, or even sitting became a struggle, affecting her ability to take care of her children. As the pain became unbearable, Rabia decided to consult a doctor and underwent a detailed examination. She was diagnosed with a paraumbilical hernia. Due to the increasing size of the hernia and worsening symptoms, the doctor recommended mesh hernioplasty along with abdominal lipectomy. However, the cost of the surgery was far beyond what Rabia’s family could afford.
She lives in a modest rented house with her husband and two children. Her husband runs a small roadside stall, selling watches, and earns only PKR 20,000 per month. This income barely covers their daily expenses, leaving no room for expensive treatments. During this difficult time, Rabia’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for support. After carefully reviewing her medical reports and financial condition, we registered her case.
On January 20, 2026, Rabia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. On the same day, Dr. Ahmed Fawad expertly performed her mesh hernioplasty and abdominal lipectomy. The surgery was successful, and Rabia was discharged in stable condition on January 22, 2026.
Rabia shared her feelings as follows:
“I was in constant pain, and every day felt harder than the last. It was very stressful for me. After the surgery, I feel much better. I am truly grateful to you for helping me in this difficult time.”
With your generous support, Rabia successfully underwent her surgery. Today, Rabia is recovering well and gradually returning to her normal life.
She can now perform her daily activities with ease, and her family is deeply thankful for your support, which brought relief and hope back into her life.
