Najam Rahim, a 7-year-old boy from Chakwal, was struggling to hear properly. His condition began when he suffered from tonsillitis, which later progressed into a middle ear infection. Unfortunately, the infection remained untreated. Over time, it caused permanent damage to his hearing. As a result, Najam found it difficult to hear, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with those around him. Concerned about his development and learning abilities, Najam’s family took him to a doctor. After a thorough examination and hearing assessment, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). To help Najam hear better and improve his communication skills, the doctor recommended a hearing aid.

However, Najam’s family was unable to afford the cost of the hearing aid. They live in a small three-room brick house in Chakwal. Najam’s father is a daily wage earner and the sole provider for a family of six, earning only PKR 32,000 per month. This modest income barely covers basic household expenses such as food, utilities, and education, leaving no room for costly medical devices. During this challenging time, Najam’s family approached Transparent Hands for support. After reviewing his medical reports and financial condition, we registered his case.

On November 18, 2025, Najam was provided with a STARKEY EVOLV BTE 2000 Power Plus hearing aid, along with a custom earmold by LNSS Enterprises. Complete fitting, testing, and adjustment were carried out by Dr. Aqsa Taqween to ensure comfort and optimal hearing performance.
