Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Munawara Ajmal, a 41-year-old woman from Lahore, had been suffering from pain in her upper abdominal area. She frequently experienced episodes of indigestion, bloating, and gas after meals, while she had constant pain in her right upper abdomen. She often complained of nausea and discomfort. When her condition worsened, her family took her to the local doctor. After a thorough examination, it was found that Munawara had symptomatic gallstones and needed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Munawara’s husband works at an eatery and earns PKR 50,000 per month. He is the sole breadwinner for a family of six, including four children. The family lives in a rented house. After accounting for utility bills and other expenses, the family has little left to save. Consequently, they were not able to afford the cost to support Munawara's surgery. As time passed, Munawara’s pain got worse, and she found it challenging to carry out her daily activities. They learned about Transparent Hands and contacted us. We registered her case.
On October 28, 2025, Munawara was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore, where she underwent a successful Laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Dr. Ahmed Fawad conducted the operation. The operation went well, and she was discharged in good health on October 29, 2025. Her family is ecstatic about her recovery.
Her husband expressed his gratitude as follows: “Munawara had been ill for too long. Her condition deteriorated very quickly. I didn't have the money to afford her surgery, and it seemed as if she would never find a cure. Her recovery was a dream made possible by your kindness. I thank you on behalf of my family for your generous contributions.”
Munawara's health has significantly improved, and she has found her strength back to carry out her daily routine. Her family is also pleased to see her live an active life without any pain. Thanks to your support, Munawara can now live a normal, pain-free life, for which her family is immensely thankful.
