Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Syed Muhammad Abid Ali, a 42-year-old man from Karachi, had been struggling with health issues for the past two months. He experienced pain in the upper right side of his abdomen, along with frequent nausea and discomfort after eating oily or fatty meals. These symptoms made it difficult for him to continue his routine work and manage daily responsibilities. Worried about his worsening health, Abid visited a nearby hospital for medical consultation. After undergoing detailed examinations and diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with cholelithiasis, commonly known as gallstones. To treat the problem and prevent further complications, the doctor recommended a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was beyond Abid’s financial means.
He works at a private firm and earns only PKR 42,000 per month. A significant portion of his income goes towards his house rent and his children’s educational expenses. After managing these essential expenses, he is left with very little to cover other household needs, making it impossible for him to afford the surgery. In this difficult time, Abid reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. After carefully reviewing his medical reports and financial situation, we registered his case. On February 17, 2026, Abid was admitted to Altamash General Hospital in Karachi. Dr. Abdul Waheed successfully performed his laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Abid was discharged in stable condition on February 19, 2026.
Abid shared his feelings as follows:
“For weeks, I was in constant discomfort, and it became difficult for me to focus on my work. I felt worried because I could not afford the treatment. Your support came as a great relief to me. I am thankful to you for helping me receive this surgery and easing my pain.”
Today, Abid is recovering well and gradually returning to his normal routine.
His family is deeply grateful to you for restoring his health and bringing comfort back into his life.
