Success Story

Muhammad Imran, a 28-year-old man from Jhang, faced a challenging moment in his life. His left leg became trapped in an elevator, resulting in a severe crush injury to his left foot. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where doctors provided emergency treatment and conducted a detailed medical assessment. Due to extensive tissue and bone damage, the medical team determined that the injury was beyond repair. They performed a left-sided below-knee amputation to prevent further complications. Tasks that were once effortless such as walking, standing, and moving independently, became overwhelming challenges. Following his recovery, Imran’s doctor recommended a below-knee prosthetic limb to help restore his mobility and independence. However, the cost of the prosthesis was far beyond what Imran and his family could afford.

Imran is currently unemployed due to his disability. He lives with his parents and five siblings in a modest rented house. The family survives on a combined income of only PKR 15,000 per month, earned by his father and brother, who work as daily wage laborers. Due to their financial hardships, they couldn’t afford Imran’s below-knee prosthesis. During this challenging time, his family turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Moved by their plea, we registered his case.

On November 18, 2025, Imran received a below-knee prosthetic limb at the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled (PSRD) in Lahore. This procedure was successfully performed under the supervision of Dr. Shabana Naz.

Imran expressed his heartfelt gratitude as follows: "After the accident, I felt helpless and broken. Losing my leg made me think my life had ended. This prosthetic leg gave me strength, confidence, and hope again. I can walk on my own now and dream of earning for my family. I will always be grateful to those who stood by me."

Today, Imran can walk independently and is hopeful about returning to work and supporting his family once again. He and his family extend their immense gratitude to you for making a meaningful difference in Imran’s life.
