Success Story

Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Muhammad Ibrahim, a 45-year-old man from Sialkot, had been living with the consequences of a tragic accident for the past seven years. In 2018, while filling a gas cylinder, a sudden leakage triggered a powerful explosion that caused severe injuries to his right hand and arm. Despite receiving immediate medical care, the damage was too extensive to save his limb, and doctors had to perform a below-elbow amputation. Since then, Ibrahim has faced challenges in carrying out everyday tasks that once came naturally.

Living with the loss of his right arm affected nearly every aspect of Ibrahim's daily life. Simple activities such as eating, dressing, working, and managing household responsibilities became much more difficult. Hoping to improve his mobility and regain greater independence, Ibrahim consulted a doctor for further evaluation. After assessing his condition, the doctor recommended a right below-elbow prosthesis. However, the cost of the prosthesis was far beyond Ibrahim's financial means. Ibrahim lives in a modest house with his wife and six children. He is the sole earning member of the household and works as a farmer, earning only PKR 15,000 per month. His limited income is spent on food, household expenses, his children's needs, and other daily necessities. Looking for a way to rebuild his life, Ibrahim contacted Transparent Hands. After listening to his concerns, we registered his case.

On May 11, 2026, Ibrahim received his right below-elbow prosthesis at the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled (PSRD) in Lahore under the supervision of Dr. Shabana Naz. Following the fitting, he received guidance on using and caring for the prosthetic limb.

Ibrahim shared his gratitude in these words:

"After losing my arm, I had to depend on others for many tasks, which was very difficult for me. Receiving this prosthetic arm has given me greater confidence and the ability to do more on my own. I am thankful to you for supporting my treatment and helping me move forward with my life."

Today, Ibrahim is adjusting well to his prosthetic arm and gradually returning to a more active and independent life. He looks forward to supporting his family with new confidence and carrying out daily activities with greater ease.

He and his family extend their sincere gratitude to you as your generosity made this life-changing procedure possible.
