Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Muhammad Shabbir, a 44-year-old man from Hyderabad, couldn’t hear the sounds around him. Employed in a noisy industrial setting, he gradually began noticing changes in his hearing. Conversations became harder to follow, familiar sounds seemed distant, and communicating with family members became increasingly challenging. As time passed, the problem worsened, affecting both his work and personal life. Concerned about his condition, Shabbir visited a doctor for a comprehensive hearing assessment. After undergoing the necessary examinations and laboratory tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Sensorineural Hearing Loss, a condition that affects the inner ear and reduces the ability to hear clearly. To improve his hearing and help him communicate effectively, the doctor recommended a hearing aid.
However, the cost of the device was beyond his financial capacity. He holds a private job and earns PKR 55,000 per month. He lives in a rented apartment with his wife and three school-going children. After paying PKR 15,000 for monthly rent, most of his income was consumed by educational expenses, household bills, groceries, and other necessities. Purchasing a hearing aid was not possible for the family. Hoping for assistance, Shabbir contacted Transparent Hands and shared his situation. After reviewing his medical reports and financial circumstances, we registered his case.
On May 4, 2026, Shabbir received a STARKEY EVOLV BTE 2000 Power Plus Hearing Aid with an earmold. The device was fitted under the supervision of Dr. Aqsa Tanvir. Complete fitting, adjustment, and testing were successfully carried out to ensure optimal hearing performance and comfort.
Shabbir expressed his happiness as follows:
"Losing my hearing affected both my work and my relationships. There were many times when I struggled to understand conversations and felt disconnected from the people around me. Receiving this hearing aid has made a remarkable difference. I can hear and communicate now. Your support has brought comfort and hope back into my life."
Today, Shabbir is adapting well to his hearing aid.
His family is thankful to you for improving his quality of life.
