Success Story

Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Muhammad Rumman Asim, a 20-year-old boy from Lahore, had been living in a world of silence since the age of seven. Before his illness, Rumman could speak fluently and interact with family and friends. His life took a sudden turn when he suffered from a severe middle ear infection that resulted in hearing loss. Over the years, his condition gradually worsened, leaving him increasingly isolated and unable to communicate effectively. As Rumman grew older, his hearing impairment began to affect every aspect of his life. He struggled to understand conversations, respond appropriately, and participate in daily activities. Concerned about his future, Rumman visited a local hospital for a detailed medical evaluation. After conducting hearing assessments and examinations, the doctor diagnosed him with hearing loss and recommended the use of hearing aid.

Unfortunately, the cost of hearing aid was far beyond what Rumman’s family could afford. He lives in a modest home with his joint family of seven members. His father is the sole breadwinner, holding a private job and earning only PKR 30,000 per month. This meager income barely covers basic household expenses, making it impossible for the family to manage the cost of assistive hearing devices. During this difficult time, Rumman and his family approached Transparent Hands for support. After listening to their concerns, we swiftly registered his case.

On October 24, 2025, Rumman received a STARKEY EVOLV BTE 2000 Power Plus hearing aid, along with a custom earmold by LNSS Enterprises. Proper fitting, testing, and counseling was done by Dr. Aqsa Taqween to ensure maximum benefit.

Rumman shared his happiness in the following words: “For many years, I felt cut off from everyone around me. I could see people talking, but couldn’t understand them. After receiving the hearing aid, I can hear voices again. Your support has brought happiness and hope back into my life.”

Today, Rumman is adapting well to his hearing aid. He and his family are deeply grateful to you for restoring his ability to hear and giving him a chance to reconnect with the world of sounds.
