Success Story

Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Pashmina Shah Jahan, a 31-year-old woman from Sanghar, had been living with a painful lump in her right breast for the past three years. What began as a small swelling gradually increased in size, causing discomfort and making everyday activities more challenging. The pain often affected her routine, leaving her worried about her health and the future of her family. Determined to understand the cause of her symptoms, Pashmina visited a local hospital for an evaluation. After a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed her with a fibroadenoma in her right breast. A fibroadenoma is a non-cancerous breast tumor that can cause pain, swelling, and discomfort. Although it is benign, timely treatment is important to prevent the lump from increasing in size and causing further complications. To remove the lump and relieve her symptoms, the doctor recommended excision of the fibroadenoma.

Affording the surgery was beyond Pashmina's family's financial means. She lives in a rented house with her husband and three daughters. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer, but his employment is irregular, and he earns approximately PKR 18,000 per month. His modest income is used to cover rent, food, utility bills, educational expenses for their two school-going daughters, and other household necessities, leaving no savings for surgical treatment. Unable to manage the cost of the procedure, Pashmina reached out to Transparent Hands. After evaluating her medical reports and financial condition, her case was registered.

On June 9, 2026, Pashmina was admitted to the Isra University Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad. Her excision of fibroadenoma was successfully performed by Dr. Waseem Memon. The lump was carefully removed, helping relieve her pain and reducing the risk of future complications. After post-operative care and observation, she was discharged in stable condition on June 10, 2026.

With heartfelt appreciation, Pashmina said:

"When I learned that surgery was the only way to treat my condition, I felt worried because my family could not afford it. Your support gave me the opportunity to receive timely treatment and find relief from the pain I had lived with for years. I am thankful for your kindness and generosity."

The successful surgery has relieved Pashmina's discomfort and removed the lump that had affected her life for years. She is pleased to return to her routine with greater comfort and peace of mind.

Her family is grateful for your generosity, which changed her life.
