Success Story

Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Muhammad Azan Khan, a 2-year-old boy from Nawab Shah, Sindh, was unable to hear since birth. He could not hear his parents calling his name, his sibling's laughter, or the comforting voices of his loved ones. While other children of his age responded to sounds and began learning to speak, Azan remained disconnected from the sounds around him. His parents were deeply concerned as they watched him miss out on important moments of early childhood. Azan's parents took him to a local hospital for an evaluation. After a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed him with congenital sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). To enable him to hear and speak, the doctor recommended a hearing aid.

He lives in a modest two-room rented house with his parents and one sibling. His father is the sole breadwinner of the family and works as a daily wage laborer, earning only PKR 40,000 per month. His limited income is spent on house rent, food, utility bills, and other essential household expenses. Due to their financial hardships, they couldn’t afford Azan’s much-needed hearing aid. Azan's family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us to register his case.

On May 12, 2026, Azan received a STARKEY EVOLV BTE 2000 Power Plus Hearing Aid with a custom earmold under the supervision of Dr. Aqsa Tanvir. The device was carefully fitted, adjusted, and tested to ensure proper hearing.

With tears of gratitude, Azan's father said:

"We prayed for the day our son could begin hearing. Your generosity has given our child a chance to experience sounds, learn, and communicate. We are thankful for your kindness and support."

The hearing aid has given him the opportunity to experience the sounds around him.

His family is deeply grateful for your generosity, which has brought happiness, confidence, and a brighter future into Azan’s life.
