Success Story

Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Ghazala Naeem, a 48-year-old woman from Mandi Bahauddin, was struggling with pain in her upper right abdominal region. Her condition was often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and indigestion, particularly after consuming fatty meals. The discomfort and digestive issues made it extremely difficult for her to manage daily household responsibilities and care for her children. Worried about her condition, Ghazala consulted a doctor at a local hospital. After conducting an ultrasound scan and necessary laboratory tests, she was diagnosed with Symptomatic Gallstones. To relieve her pain and prevent further health risks, her doctor recommended a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was beyond her family’s financial means.

Ghazala lives in a flood-affected area where access to proper medical care is limited. Her husband is currently unemployed. The only source of income for the family is their son, who works at a dairy farm and also does farming. He earns PKR 75,000 per month, which barely covers essential expenses such as food, utility bills, and school fees for the younger children. With these limited resources, affording surgery was impossible. During this difficult situation, Ghazala approached Transparent Hands, and her case was registered.

On November 12, 2025, Ghazala was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Ahmed Fawad successfully performed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The surgery went smoothly, and she received proper post-operative care and monitoring. She was discharged in stable condition on November 13, 2025.

Ghazala shared her feelings as follows: “For months, I lived with constant pain that made caring for my children and managing the household nearly impossible. After the surgery, I feel relieved and can perform daily tasks with ease. I am thankful to you for helping me during my challenging time.”

Today, Ghazala is recovering well. She can manage her household, care for her children, and live a life free from constant pain. Ghazala and her family are deeply grateful to you for restoring her health and easing her suffering.
