Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Nabila Sohail, a 44-year-old woman from Lahore, experienced pain and discomfort in her upper right abdominal region. For four months, she faced repeated episodes of nausea and vomiting, which made it hard for her to manage household chores or care for her child. Despite taking medicines, her pain only grew worse. Concerned for her health, she visited a local hospital. After performing several tests and an ultrasound scan, her doctor diagnosed her with Symptomatic Gallstones. To relieve her pain and prevent further complications, a laparoscopic cholecystectomy was recommended. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for her family.
Nabila lives in a small rented home with her husband and a child. Her husband suffers from epilepsy and is unable to work. To keep the household running, Nabila works as a seamstress, earning just PKR 15,000 per month. This income is insufficient to cover their household expenses. Her limited means made it impossible for her to afford surgery. That’s why she contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. Understanding the nature of her condition, we promptly registered her case.
On September 19, 2025, Nabila was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Her surgery was scheduled for the same day. Dr. Ahmed Fawad expertly performed her surgery, relieving her pain and discomfort. On September 20, 2025, Nabila was discharged in good health from the hospital.
In her words of gratitude, Nabila said:
“The constant pain had taken away my peace of mind. After this surgery, I finally feel healthy again. Thank you so much for helping me when I had no other way. Your support has truly changed my life.”
Nabila is now pain-free and able to resume her sewing work comfortably. Her strength has returned, and she can once again care for her child. She and her husband are grateful for your generosity, which made her recovery possible.
