Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Mirza Muhammad Rayyan, a 5-year-old boy from Sargodha, had lived in a world of silence since birth. His parents first sensed something unusual when Rayyan did not respond to their voices or react to everyday household sounds. As time passed and other children began speaking and responding to sounds, Rayyan’s silence became a growing concern. Worried about his development, his parents took him to a local hospital for medical consultation. After a detailed clinical evaluation and specialized hearing tests, the doctor diagnosed Rayyan with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss. Without timely intervention, this condition could severely affect Rayyan’s speech, communication skills, and development. To enable him to hear, the doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery.

Rayyan lives with his family in a modest home in Sargodha with his parents and a sibling. His father, a police employee, is the sole breadwinner and earns PKR 65,000 per month. This income is only enough to meet basic household expenses, leaving no possibility of affording the extremely high cost of cochlear implant surgery. During this time of need, Rayyan’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for support. After reviewing his case, we registered Rayyan for treatment.

With the generous support of kind donors, Rayyan was admitted to Evercare Hospital, Lahore, on July 22, 2025. The following day, Dr. Imran Saeed successfully inserted the internal component of the cochlear implant. The procedure was completed without any complications, and Rayyan received careful post-operative monitoring. He was discharged in stable condition on July 24, 2025.

Six weeks after the surgery, Rayyan received the external component of his cochlear implant. He now receives regular speech therapy sessions that will help him recognize sounds and communicate properly.

Rayyan’s parents shared their emotions in these words: “Our son has finally received the treatment. We are deeply thankful to you as you supported his cochlear implant surgery. Rayyan can now hear and speak. Your kindness has changed Rayyan's future.”

Today, Rayyan’s family looks ahead with new hope and optimism. The silence that once defined his life is slowly giving way to sounds and possibilities.

Your generosity has opened a new world for Rayyan, one filled with voices, learning, and a brighter future.
