Tabassum Ajmal, an 18-year-old girl from Karachi, was struggling with throat problems. She suffered from repeated episodes of sore throat and fever, which gradually became more severe. The constant pain made it difficult for her to eat properly, speak comfortably, and focus on her studies. Concerned about her worsening condition, Tabassum visited a local hospital, where a doctor conducted a detailed examination. She was diagnosed with Chronic Tonsillitis. The doctor recommended a Tonsillectomy as the most effective treatment to relieve her symptoms.

Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was beyond the family’s financial capacity. Tabassum lives in a one-room brick house with her parents and four siblings. Her father works as a driver and earns only PKR 25,000 per month, which is barely sufficient to meet basic household expenses. With limited income and increasing medical needs, arranging money was impossible. During this difficult time, Tabassum’s family approached Transparent Hands. On September 10, 2025, Tabassum was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. Dr. Mubashir Abdul Razzak successfully performed her Tonsillectomy. The surgery was a smooth success, and she received essential post-operative care. Tabassum was discharged in stable condition from the hospital on September 11, 2025.
