Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Saima Tariq, a 53-year-old woman from Lahore, had been living with pain and discomfort due to a lump in her left breast for six months. At first, she received treatment to manage her symptoms, but the lump continued to grow. With each passing day, her pain increased, and so did her worry. As a mother and wife, Saima tried to continue caring for her family, but her illness made even simple tasks difficult. Concerned about her worsening condition, Saima visited a local hospital for an evaluation. After a detailed examination and some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with left-sided breast cancer. Her treatment plan included eight cycles of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy to control the disease.
For Saima’s family, affording the cancer treatment was extremely difficult. She lives in a modest home with her joint family of eight members. Her son is the only earning member of the household and works at a private company. His modest income is spent on food, utility bills, household needs, and educational expenses. With so many responsibilities, paying for Saima’s chemotherapy was beyond the family’s financial reach. During this time of need, she contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.
From May 16, 2025, to February 17, 2026, Saima received eight cycles of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy at Inmol Cancer Hospital, Lahore. The treatment was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Zeeshan. Each cycle was carefully administered according to her response and clinical progress.
Saima will now undergo surgery as the next step in her treatment plan, bringing her closer to a full recovery. With heartfelt gratitude, Saima shared:
“When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I felt afraid. I wanted to undergo treatment, but we had no way to afford it. Your support brought me hope during the most difficult time of my life. I am deeply thankful to you for helping me receive this treatment.”
Her treatment has brought hope to Saima and her family.
They are grateful to you for your generous support.
