Success Story

Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.

Noor Zaman, a 56-year-old man from Charsadda, KPK, was experiencing pain and discomfort in his left hip joint. He had once regained mobility after receiving a left-sided Total Hip Arthroplasty with the support of Transparent Hands in October 2022. That surgery had changed his life, allowing him to stand, walk, work, and support his family.

Unfortunately, a few months ago, Noor had an accident that damaged his hip implant. The pain returned, and so did the difficulty in movement. Standing became painful, walking became a struggle, and completing his daily routine started feeling almost impossible. Worried about his condition, Noor visited our pannel hospital for an evaluation. After an X-ray and some necessary lab tests, the doctor diagnosed him with damage to his previous left hip implant along with osteoarthritis-related complications. To restore his movement and relieve his pain, the doctor advised a revision of total hip replacement for his left hip joint.

For Noor, paying for this surgery was not possible. He lives in a modest rented home with his wife and five children. He works as a driver and earns only PKR 18,000 per month. His limited income is spent on rent, food, utility bills, and the basic needs of his children. There was no way for him to manage the expense of this treatment on his own. He contacted Transparent Hands once again and asked for help. After reviewing his medical reports and financial condition, Transparent Hands registered Noor’s case for treatment.

On April 18, 2026, Noor was admitted to the Zia Darman Hospital in Mardan. His revision total hip replacement surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Aimen Zia. The damaged implant was carefully replaced, helping restore stability and movement in his left hip joint. After post-operative care and observation, Noor was discharged in stable condition on April 22, 2026.

Noor expressed his joy as follows:

“When I received my first surgery, I felt like life had given me another chance. After the accident, the pain and difficulty in walking returned, and I feared I would lose my ability to work and care for my family. Your support helped me stand again with hope. I am deeply thankful for your help.”

Noor is now recovering steadily and looking forward to a healthier future.

This surgery has brought relief to his life and new hope to his family.
