Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Laiba Ihtisham, a 20-year-old woman from Mardan, was pregnant and preparing to welcome her second child. She underwent one C-section in the past. Therefore, her doctor advised another C-section to ensure a safe delivery. Laiba’s pregnancy carried certain risks, making timely medical intervention essential to prevent complications during childbirth. Unfortunately, the cost of the C-section was beyond the family’s financial means.
Laiba lives in a modest mud house with her husband and their first child. Her husband is the sole earner in the family, working as a laborer and earning only PKR 15,000 per month. After covering essential expenses such as groceries and utility bills, there was no way to afford the necessary C-section. Faced with this situation, Laiba’s family turned to Transparent Hands. After listening to their concerns, we swiftly registered Laiba’s case.
On August 31, 2025, Laiba was admitted to Darman Medical Complex, Shergarh. Dr. Annie Samad successfully performed the C-section, ensuring the safe delivery of a healthy baby boy. The surgery was smooth, and both mother and child received post-operative care. Laiba was discharged from the hospital in stable condition on September 1, 2025, and both were healthy and recovering well.
Laiba shared her feelings as follows: “During my pregnancy, I was worried about the safety of my baby and myself due to my previous C-section. With your support, I safely delivered my baby boy. I am deeply thankful to you for making this possible and keeping both of us healthy.”
Today, Laiba can now care for her family without the constant worry of her health, enjoying precious moments with her newborn son.
Your support has given Laiba and her family the gift of safety, health, and hope. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to you for empowering Laiba with a safe C-section.
