Syed Izhar Ul Hassan, a 46-year-old man from Karachi, was living through an extremely difficult time due to a painful medical condition. Izhar had been suffering from severe pain in his right shoulder for five months. He also experienced weakness and loss of movement in his right arm and shoulder. Concerned about his worsening condition, Izhar consulted a doctor for a detailed medical evaluation. After undergoing examinations and lab tests, he was diagnosed with a right-sided Brachial Plexus Injury (BPI). Considering the severity of his condition, the doctor advised Two Nerve Transfer Surgery to restore the function of his arm and prevent permanent disability. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond Izhar’s financial capacity.

Izhar lives with his wife and three children in a modest home. He holds a private job and brings in just PKR 30,000 per month. This income barely covers the household expenses, including utility bills, and children’s educational needs. Managing the cost of such a major surgery was impossible for the family. With the generous support of donors, Izhar was admitted to the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, on February 19, 2026. On the following day, Dr. Pervaiz Hashmi successfully performed his surgery. The procedure went smoothly, and Izhar received proper post-operative care under close medical supervision. He was discharged in stable condition on February 22, 2026.

Today, Izhar is recovering gradually and regaining strength in his arm.
