Success Story
Read how a free surgery funded by Transparent Hands donors transformed a patient's life.
Muhammad Ibrahim Suleman, a 14-year-old boy from Lahore, had been battling with severe anemia since childhood. Due to his condition, he often felt weak, and unable to carry out routine activities like other children of his age. Daily tasks became difficult for him, and his health challenges affected both his physical strength and well-being. Concerned about his worsening condition, Ibrahim’s parents took him to the hospital. After undergoing thorough medical evaluations, he was diagnosed with thalassemia, a serious blood disorder that required him to undergo weekly blood transfusions to survive. Despite these treatments, his requirement for blood transfusions increased over time. Recently, after a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed him with splenomegaly. To ease his suffering, the doctor recommended a splenectomy to improve the need for transfusions. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond the financial capacity of his family.
Ibrahim lives in a rented house with his parents, two siblings, and three other family members. His father works as a painter and earns only PKR 30,000 per month. This meager income barely covers the family’s household expenses. Managing the cost of a major surgery was impossible for the family. During this difficult time, Ibrahim’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for help. After understanding their situation, we registered his case.
On April 10, 2026, Ibrahim was admitted to the Central Park Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Umair Sami expertly performed his surgery on April 14, 2026. Ibrahim received proper post-operative care under close medical supervision. He was discharged in stable condition on April 20, 2026.
Ibrahim’s father shared his feelings as follows:
“We were deeply worried about our son’s condition and had no means to arrange his treatment. Your support gave us hope during a very difficult time. After the surgery, we are relieved to see him recovering. We are truly thankful to you for helping our child.”
Today, Ibrahim’s life has been significantly changed.
His family extends their deepest gratitude to you for ensuring his recovery from splenomegaly.
