Asghar Ali Shah, a 68-year-old man from Kasur, was struggling with impaired eyesight. His vision had become blurred, making it difficult to recognize faces and manage his small grocery shop. Daily tasks that were once simple became challenging, and his independence gradually diminished. Concerned about his worsening condition and the impact on his livelihood, Asghar consulted a doctor for a thorough evaluation. After a detailed eye examination and necessary tests, he was diagnosed with a cataract in his right eye, a condition in which the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy. His doctor recommended right eye Phacoemulsification with Intraocular Lens implantation (Phaco + IOL) to restore clear vision.

Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was beyond Asghar’s financial means. He lives in a modest one-room home with his wife and one child, who is still studying. His other son lives separately with his own family and is unable to provide financial assistance. Asghar runs a small grocery shop from his home and earns only PKR 15,000 per month. This income barely covers household expenses, making it impossible for him to afford the eye surgery. During this difficult situation, Asghar turned to Transparent Hands.
